چکیده
Abstract Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a kind disease that can be seen in premature infants. It may cause series short- and long-term complications such as poor vision infants, causing irreversible damage to them. Therefore, if we prevent this disease, solve the above problems. This study summarized some factors influence ROP, low gestational age, birth weight, irrational oxygen use, anemia, blood transfusion, thrombocytopenia; also interventions or delay progression reducing application antenatal corticosteroids, delaying clip umbilical cord, which provide reference for better clinical practice preventing ROP.

Prevention of retinopathy of prematurity.
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is related to oxygen-regulated vascular endothelial growth factor and to insulin-like growth factor-I. After premature birth, supplemental oxygen induces a retinal hyperoxic condition with vasoconstriction and to a definitive interruption of retinal vasculogenesis. Peripheral ischemia may stimulate retinal neovascularization and the onset of additional ROP-relat...
متن کاملRetinopathy of prematurity: the need for prevention
More than 450,000 babies are born prematurely in the USA every year. The improved survival of even the most vulnerable low body weight preterm infants has, despite improving health outcomes, led to the resurgence in preterm complications including one of the major causes for blindness in children, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The current mainstay in ROP therapy is laser photocoagulation an...
متن کاملRetinopathy of prematurity: A comprehensive risk analysis for prevention and prediction of disease
BACKGROUND Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a blinding morbidity of preterm infants. Our current screening criteria have remained unchanged since their inception and lack the ability to identify those at greatest risk. OBJECTIVES We sought to comprehensively analyze numerous proposed maternal, infant, and environmental ROP risk variables in a robustly phenotyped population using logistic r...
متن کاملComprehensive Oxygen Management for the Prevention of Retinopathy of Prematurity: the pediatrix experience.
Comprehensive oxygen management, focused on avoiding hyperoxia and repeated episodes of hypoxia-hyperoxia in very low birth weight infants, has been successfully used for the reduction of retinopathy of prematurity. Building on this experience, the Comprehensive Oxygen Management for the Prevention of Retinopathy of Prematurity quality improvement initiative was developed to facilitate the spre...
